My Autumn/Winter “glowy skin” staples

Hi beautiful people!

It’s been a minute – how are you?

I know I haven’t posted in weeks, but the thing is, I have been dedicating a lot of time to a few exciting projects.

Today’s post is dedicated to a passion of mine – all things skincare. With the transition into the autumn/winter season, my skin genuinely needs a little extra help. It can get really dry and flaky, and sometimes I even get eczema flare-ups – raise your hand if you feel me

While my main aim is having glowy skin 365 days a year, extra moisture is my number one priority this season.

Here are a few recommendations I have genuinely been testing during these past few weeks, and have become staples in my skincare routine. These products contain very clean ingredients, are cruelty-free and vegetarian (if not vegan) formulas. Let’s jump right into it:

Disclaimer – some of the products I’m going to mention have been gifted by the brands, however, all opinions are mine.

1- Good Molecules

Rosewater Daily Cleansing Gel

Good Molecules Cleansing Gel – RRP £10

I really wish someone would have told me earlier that there is no need for me to over-wash my face to have good skin. I wear makeup on a daily basis, and to me, it’s very important to go to bed with a super clean skin. However, in the past I’ve used face washes that have stripped my skin completely, which caused me to break out later on.

This cleanser is infused with anti-oxidant rich rose water, which balances the Ph of your skin and soothes your complexion. Perfect to remove impurities and makeup traces without disrupting the skin’s natural moisture balance.

This is a very affordable and gentle face wash, suitable for everyday cleaning. Click here to purchase.

2- Kathy Sue Ann’s

Vitamin C Facial Serum

Kathy Sue-Anns Vitanin C Serum- RRP £18

Formulated with Aloe Vera and 10% Vitamin C, this serum is every brown girl’s best friend. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and of course, hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C is a very powerful antioxidant, which means it protects the skin from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure.

I use it every night right before my moisturiser to prep my skin. I leave it on for 5 minutes, and I follow up with the rest of my skin regimen.

Please note, I personally recommend using Vitamin C products before bed. During that time, the body undergoes its natural repair process , and the vitamin C will make its strongest impact on your skin during this time. When you use your vitamin C serum during the night, you’ll also avoid the risk of photosensitivity, which can occur in some cases with daytime use. As with any potent vitamin concentration used at night, it’s recommended to use SPF before you step outside the following morning.

3 – Oliveda

Olive Tree Therapy Anti-Ageing Face Cream

This moisturiser is part of the Oliveda range, which contains organic and natural ingredients.

This cream contains anti-aging ingredients that stimulate living cells and prolong their lifespan. Contains avocado oil, which leaves the skin looking more youthful, smooth, and even.

We all know that when cooler weather comes around, it means a season of dry and flaky skin. I promise you every time I use this before bed, I wake up with glowy skin in the morning. When I wear it before my makeup, it creates a super smooth surface where my foundation blends perfectly.

I can genuinely tell when I’ve worn this moisturiser and when I’ve skipped it. Click here to purchase.

PRR £35

4 – Oliveda

Olive Tree Therapy Cell Active Facial Oil

This highly concentrated Facial Serum strengthens, tightens, repairs, and regenerates stressed and dehydrated skin through its high concentration of anti-ageing power. It contains fresh olive leaf cell elixir, which is knows as a fountain of youth. It also different properties that include moisturising, nourishing, refining pores, reducing dark spots, and evening out wrinkles with immediate effect.

Now, I don’t really use this serum on a daily basis, since it’s quite rich. I use it when my skin needs that extra glow, maybe every two or three days.

Click here to purchase. As mentioned, the Oliveda range is on the pricey side, but as I always say, you should really invest in your skin.

5 – The Body Shop

Hemp Hand Protector

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector RRP £12.

Funnily enough, I’ve only ever experienced eczema flare-ups since I moved to the United Kingdom.

In Autumn, and specialty in Winter, the air is really dry, and on occasions, it causes my hands to bleed! Crazy, I know.

I totally recommend the HEMP range if you also suffer from eczema this time of the year. I am not a big fan of the face range, but the body butter and hand cream are lush. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the smell of HEMP, so I only use it a night just before bedtime. The hand cream hydrated your skin for 24 hours and it’s non-greasy. Click here to purchase.

Have you used any of these products?

Thank you for reading!

Until next time

A xx
